Lia is One!!!- First Birthday Party July 17, 2010

Lia's birthday party was a hit! Everything went according to planned and I could not be happier with the turnout.

Her birthday was actually on Saturday the 17th so that made it a little extra special to me.

Saturday morning we pretty much did some last minute errands, prepped the house with decorations, food and baloons and Lia napped until about 30 minutes before party time. PERFECT!

Only snag was that while she was playing in the morning with her new water table, she tripped and bonked her head and had a nice red mark on her foreheadfor the rest of the day and in all her pictures. Ahh, the joys of walking.

The party dress I had planned for her to wear from Naartjie is still a little too long and easy to trip on so she actually wore an adorable dress from Old Navy that was one of the first things I bought her after I found out she was a girl!

We had a great turnout. All the grandparents came, my brother and sister, my girlfriends and the gals w/ babies all made it including Chelsea and Stuart and their baby Ellie, Mandy and Kipp w/ Dylann in the oven, Janna and Chad and Addi and Lilly and Nicole and Jon, my bff Kia and Lia's cousins Ada and Evi came to play, Miss BJ was there and Lia's boyfriend Brendan and her buddy Zoe from daycare came as did Miss Judy and her husband John. Kevin and Isabella (Taylor's family from Ireland) came out as well as they were in town for Kevin's bday on the 18th. Our neighbors across the street, Chris and Jill, brought over their little 1 year old Calista as well. It was quite the full house! And it was HOT! I think the forecast was 101 or 102. It was like being back in Phoenix!!

Everything ended up working out well though using both the indoor and outdorr big deck space. The kids really liked playing with all of Lia's toys and the water table was a hit too.

We just had snack food... I made veggie pizza, my mom made 7 layer dip, Kia brought her delicious home made quac and we had some veggies/tortilla sandwiches/ etc out as well.

Her cake was delicious!! Chocalate w/ Bavarian Cream for the adults and Lia had a little baby cake to herself of Chocolate w/ Strawberry filling. She wasn't quite sure what to do with it and definitely had more fun squishing it in her hands than eating it.

She got lots of great gifts... we are so thankful to everyone for being so generous!!
My Mom and Dave bought her her very first Power Wheels Dora the explorer Quad. She isn't scared of it, which I thought she would be, but she likes pushing the button on it to make it go. She really had fun riding on the back of it with Brendan.

Here's her favorite daycare, Miss Judy, with her and the kids. She was such a help at the party too!! You can tell how much she loves her babies!! Zoe was so tired that day. Brendan was loving the salami and pepperoni tray!

Here's some pics of her playing with her friends... Janna and Lilly and Addison. Gotta love Lilly's eyes!!

Some pics of Kia and her family. I love little Evi's face!! She and Ada had tons of fun w/ Cousin Lia. Only problem was Ada LOVES balloons. Once she saw how many we had for the party all she wanted was more balloons! It was hysterical! "purple one, pink one?, Green one?" She was not very happy when she didn't get her way on those. Love my little bean!! She knows what she wants!

Cake Time Photos!

Opening Presents with Mandy and Mama and hanging w/ Grandpa and of course a couple pics with her and her babies. She still won't go anywhere without that red Christmas baby. Too cute!

More pics of family and friends just hanging out enjoying the afternoon. It was so much fun!! Looking forward to another year with my baby girl! Thanks again to everyone who came and made it so extra special!! And thanks to Shellie for taking the pics!
